Elder Martinez stating the purpose of the visit said “We come here as representatives of our members, we come in the name of our President and Prophet of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Russell M. Nelson and we come as representatives of Jesus Christ.” As members of the Church, he continued, “We believe in being subject to kings, presidents, rulers, and magistrates, in obeying, honoring, and sustaining the law.”

‘’We have come to congratulate you on your enthronement and offer our support to you as you serve your people and the community.”

Elder Hugo Martinez added that the Church recently celebrated 200 years since the restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ in this dispensation. “We have been serving Ghana through various humanitarian efforts such as renovating hospitals and providing hospital equipment, Maternal and Newborn Care, Vision Care, donation of Wheelchairs, provision of clean water and Sanitation Projects, among others.”

Concluding his remarks, Elder Martinez stated: “We are on your land, we are good tenants and neighbors and therefore want to partner with you to serve the people and humanity through the Gospel of Jesus Christ.’’

Also speaking during the visit, Elder John Atta Koranteng, an Area Seventy in the Africa West Area who accompanied Elder Martinez told his Majesty that the Church believed strongly in the family. " We believe that the foundation of any nation is the family. A healthy, solid family will create a healthy, solid nation. This is why we seek partnership with traditional institutions like yours to help shape and inculcate moral values in our society.”

His Royal Majesty King Dr. Tackie Teiko Tsuru-II was presented with the Church’s literature packet containing the Church’s History, Orientation and Beliefs, the Restoration Proclamation, magazine of the Church’s Temples across the world, a copy of The Book of Mormon – Another Testament of Jesus Christ and ‘The Christus’ marble statue of the resurrected Jesus Christ.

Responding, His Royal Majesty King Dr. Tackie Teiko Tsuru-II said: “I want to thank you on behalf of all my chiefs, elders and my people. God bless all the good works you are doing and may God reward you abundantly.”

“The Ga State has always been a beautiful culture, tradition and wonderful people.

We have always drawn our faith and religion from theocracy. It is the respect of God which we call ’Kpolo-Mawu’ translated as (Yahweh). Because we have an origin from Israel and most of our practices and beliefs originate from Judaism’’ the King said.

“We are asking your Church to partner with us to bring back theocracy within our cultures, traditions, societies and among the people because true faith in God is what starts any kind of development through wisdom to bring people together for progress, peace and unity.” said King Dr. Tackie Teiko Tsuru-II.

The Ga King is highly revered in the Ga lands, Greater Accra Region and other parts of Ghana, and is one of the prominent traditional rulers in Ghana.
