On Friday 30th April 2021, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints through it's humanitairian arm,Latter-day Saints Charities, in partnership with Project Hope, donated 400,000 surgical nose marks and 30,000 isolation gowns to the Ghana Health Service in Accra.

The donation took place at the forecourt of the headquarters of Ghana Health Service. Representing the Church to donate the items to Ghana Health Service were Sister Emelia Ahadjie, Africa West Area Communication Director; Elder Lyle Parry and Sister Cricket Parry, Africa West Area Communication Specialist missionaries; and Brother Mahmud Labinjo, Humanitarian Specialist. Receiving the items on behalf of Ghana Health Service were Dr. Anthony Adofo Ofosu, Deputy Director Ghana Health Service; Madam Araba Kudiakor, Director of Supplies Ghana Health Service; and Mr. Jacob, Personal Secretary to the Director of Ghana Health Service.
Emelia Ahadjie said “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is here to bless lives of all God’s children.” She recounted how the Church is blessing lives all over the world, especially in Africa. Elder Parry also reaffirmed the partnership and friendship between The Church and Ghana Health Service in serving the people of Ghana.
Dr. Anthony Adofo Ofosu received the protective equipment and expressed his appreciation on behalf of Ghana Health Service to The Church for the donation. He encouraged The Church to continue its charitable services to mankind. He also asked The Church to continue working together with the Ghana Health Service to help combat COVID-19. The protective equipment is intended to be distributed to various regions throughout the country.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has helped combat COVID-19 globally, including Ghana, by partnering with governments, NGO’s, and other humanitarian organizations.
