LDS Congregations to Discuss Africa West Area Plan for 2016

This week a new video prepared under the direction of the Africa West Area Presidency of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will be viewed and discussed by congregations in Ghana, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Liberia, Ivory Coast, Togo and Benin.

The objectives of the 2016 Plan are:
  • Build faith in Christ
  • Focus on Ordinances
  • Encourage and Strengthen the Rising Generation

To achieve this vision leaders and members of the Church need to focus on the following goals:

  • Increased tithing faithfulness of adult members
  • Increase sacrament meeting attendance
  • Increase temporal self-reliance
  • Increase in convert baptisms
  • Increase age appropriate holders of the priesthood
  • Increase the number of members attending the temple
  • Increase the number of young members serving or having served missions

President LeGrand R. Curtis Jr., President of the Africa West Area of the Church said, “We encourage everyone to look to Christ with faith.  Let us love, trust and know Him as we seek temple blessings and eternal life for ourselves and families.  We have developed this vision in order to help us build our faith in Christ, focus on gospel ordinances and strengthen the rising generation.”
